Webmail themes support document sharing using Documents Folders. Documents Folders are like other shared folders in that you can give other MDaemon Webmail users access to them. You can set the access permissions separately for each user and set the level to: Full Control, Editor, Reader, or No Access. Further, you can create any number of these folders and use them to store or share any types of files. You can upload files to your documents folders using the built-in tools, filenames can be searched and renamed, and files can be attached to new messages that are being composed. Additionally, when using any theme but Lite, and you are using a browser that supports HTML5's Drag and Drop features, such as the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox, you can also upload files by dragging them from the desktop into the browser window when viewing the Documents page.

When you have linked your MDaemon Webmail account to Google Drive or Dropbox, and wish to work with a file in one of those accounts rather than in your regular Documents folders, the instruction below are the same. Simply start by selecting the Google Drive or Dropbox folder instead of the regular Documents folders.

Uploading a File

To upload a file to a documents folder:

1.Click Documents or the Documents icon to switch to the default documents folder. If you wish to upload the document to a different folder, click the desired documents folder in the Folder List.

2.Click Upload or Choose Files, depending on your theme.

3.Use the Open file tool to navigate to the file you wish to upload, and click Open. If using the Pro theme, the file is uploaded to the server. If a file of the same name already exists, a number will be appended to the filename when it is uploaded. If you are using another theme, go to the next step.

4.If a file of the same name exists on the server and you wish to replace that file, click the box marked Replace existing.

5.Click Upload Document

Downloading or Opening a File

Depending on which theme you are using, to download or open a file, click the filename in the list or right-click the file and click Download. In most browsers you can optionally drag and drop the file to download it to your computer. Note: if you are working in a Google Drive folder, there is an additional icon that you can click to view the file in a Google Drive browser window.

Renaming a File

To rename a file in a documents folder:

1.Click Documents to switch to the default documents folder, or choose a different Documents Folder in the Folder List.

3.Type a name for the file, and click OK.

Copying or Moving a File

To copy or move a file to another folder:

1.Click Documents to switch to the default documents folder, or choose a different Documents Folder in the Folder List.

2.Select any files that you wish to copy or move, and click the Copy/Move link or icon on the toolbar above the list (Copy/Move is under the Other Actions icon in the Pro theme).

3.Select the destination folder, and click Copy or Move.

Deleting a File

To delete a file from a documents folder:

1.Click Documents to switch to the default documents folder, or choose a different Documents Folder in the Folder List.

2.Click Delete (or the delete icon) in the row of the file you wish to delete. If you do not see the Delete column, use the Columns option to make it visible. Optionally, you can delete a file by selecting it in the list and then clicking the Delete link or icon on the toolbar.

3.Click OK to confirm your decision to delete the file.

Attaching Files to a Message

Files contained in a Google Drive folder cannot be attached directly from your Google Drive Documents folder. You must first Copy or Move the file into a regular documents folder, then you can attach it to a message normally.
