Webmail can be set to collect mail from any number of additional POP mailboxes to which you have access. For example, your MDaemon Webmail email account may be for work but you may have a separate email account for home that you wish to collect with Webmail, too. Adding your home email account credentials to the Mailboxes section will cause its mail to be collected and pooled with your MDaemon email. You could also then use the Folders and Filters options to sort the mail into specific folders to keep it separate from your work email.
The Mailboxes option may not be available for all users. |
For each mailbox entry, specify the following items:
Host Name
This is the mail server from which you wish to retrieve your email messages. This will be a domain name or IP address (e.g. mail.company.com, myisp.com, 127.0.0.1, etc.). When collecting mail from Gmail or Office 365, use "pop.gmail.com:995" or "outlook.office365.com:995", respectively. You must also select the "Use OAuth / Connect to this account with OAuth 2.0" option below. See: Authorizing your Gmail or Microsoft (Office) 365 Account below.
User Name
This is your Username/login ID on the mail server from which you will be retrieving your mail.
Password
Type into this box the password of the account on the mail server from which you will be retrieving your mail.
Enabled
Check this box to enable mail collection, you can uncheck it to stop the collection at any time without deleting the mailbox.
Remove mail from Server/POP account
Click this checkbox if you wish to delete the mail from the POP mail server after it is downloaded by the MDaemon server. It will no longer be available on the original mail server. Uncheck this box if want this email to remain accessible apart from your MDaemon email account.
Your account may have a size limitation placed on it, which would cause your Trash folder to be automatically emptied when the limit is reached. Your account may also be set to automatically empty the Trash folder when you log out. This setting is located in Personalize. |
Use APOP / Encrypt POP Password using APOP
APOP is an email collection protocol that enables your password to be encrypted with it is transmitted over the network to the mail server. Click this checkbox if you know your mail server supports APOP and you would like to use it. If it is unchecked then the MDaemon server will use the normal POP protocol instead.
Use OAuth / Connect to this account with OAuth 2.0
Choose this authentication method when collecting mail from Gmail or Office 365, and in Host Name above, use "pop.gmail.com:995" or "outlook.office365.com:995", respectively. After adding the mailbox, you will have to go through a short process to authorize MDaemon to collect its mail. See: Authorizing your Gmail or Microsoft (Office) 365 Account below.
