Mailing Lists, sometimes called Email Groups or Distribution Lists, allow groups of users to be addressed as if they all shared a common mailbox. Copies of email messages sent to the list are distributed to each of the list's members. Lists may contain members with local and/or remote destination addresses, be public or private, moderated or open, be sent in digest or normal message format, and more.
Located under the Main » Mailing Lists... menu selection, the Mailing List Manager is used to administer your lists.
Click New on the Mailing Lists toolbar to open the Mailing List Editor for creating a new list. Naming the list and designating the domain to which it will belong are the only required parameters for creating it. All other options will contain default settings. You can change these settings while creating the list or you can change them later by editing it.
Modifying an Existing Mailing List
To edit a Mailing List, double-click the list or select it and click Edit on the toolbar.
Copying a Mailing List
If you wish to create a mailing list with the same settings and members as another list, select the list, click this button, and then specify a mailbox name and domain for the new list.
Filtering the Mailing List Page
You can sort the Mailing Lists page in ascending or descending order by clicking the "Name" bar just above the list. If you have a very large number of lists, however, and wish to display a specific subset of them, or you wish to jump quickly to a specific one, click Filter on the toolbar and type the list's address or some text by which to filter the list, and click Apply. Optionally, before clicking Apply you can switch the filter criteria from match to do not match, if you wish to filter the list based on the results not matching the text you typed. You can use wildcard characters * and ? to make searching easier.
For example, if you wish to jump quickly to the list mylist@example.net, you can simply type "mylist@example.net" and click Apply. Then only that list would be displayed on the page. Typing "*example.com" with the wildcard would display all lists ending with "example.com". In the latter case, switching the filter criteria to "do not match" would cause only lists that do not contain "example.com" to be displayed.
To cancel the filter and go back to the default list, click Filter again and then Cancel.
